About Me
Welcome to Scodavis Graphics. Many name is Scott Davis, and I live in Fresno, California. I am 28 years old, and I graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in Graphic Design in 2002. Since then, I have been working freelance designing websites.
One of my biggest issues with websites today is their lack of compatibility. I prefer to use Opera as my web browser, and I cannot even count the number of sites that have given me the famous message, "You are using an incompatible browser." My belief is that every website created should work equally (or at least almost equally) on all web browsers. I write all of my HTML code by hand using Wordpad, and use only the most basic Javascripts when necessary. I keep away from Flash, and I avoid using features that are specific to just one browser. As a result, all of the websites function and look identical whether viewed using Opera, Internet Explorer, or Firefox.
In addition to HTML and basic Javascript, I have recently begun using ColdFusion MX and Microsoft Access Databases. When appropriate, these two tools allow websites to be dynamic and powerful. Massive amounts of data can be stored in a database, and a ColdFusion-based website can query that data, analyze, and sort it.
Two other activities I do are photography and 3-D computer graphics using 3D Studio Max. With these, I have generated fine art that will be available for purchase in a large format from this website. Stay tuned for more information.
