All About Me
My name is Scott J. Davis, and I am 33 years old. I was born and raised in Clovis, California, where I still reside to this day. I graduated from Clovis High School in 1997, and received my B.A. in Graphic Design from California State University, Fresno, in 2002.
While in my senior year of high school, I took a photography class as my fine arts requirement, and have been hooked ever since. I started with a Pentax K1000 SLR (which I still have), got a digital point-and-shoot camera in 2003, and upgraded to Digital SLR in 2005. My favorite subjects to photograph have always been landscapes and nature, with an emphasis on avoiding man-made creations.
I have always been interested in the sciences, and I adopted astronomy as a hobby in late 2011 when my wife pointed out a "Central Valley Astronomers" display in one of our local library's display cases. Almost immediately, I realized that my new astronomy hobby could be combined with my love for photography to create beautiful photographs of the heavens.
I credit my wonderful wife, Megan, for allowing me to pursue these hobbies to my fullest ability, and my family and friends, whose support and generosity allowed me to purchase the equipment necessary to make it possible.
