Astrophotography Gallery > Star Trails > Polaris by the Oak Tree
Date: Saturday, March 9, 2013
Location: Eastman Lake, CA
This image was carefully composed to capture the beautiful shapes of the oak tree superimposed on the dramatic rotation of the stars around the celestial north pole. The image is a clear reminder that Polaris, while extremely close to north, is still not quite there.
